ACOUSTICS BOOK

In 1998, Charles M. Salter Associates wrote ACOUSTICS: Architecture, Engineering, the Environment, published by William Stout. The book is geared toward architects, engineers, facilities managers, specifiers and other professionals with a need for information on acoustics. The 320-page reference book utilizes full color photographs, illustrations and more than 50 case studies to help the reader understand how to approach acoustical design issues for all building types. The American Institute of Architects is currently using the book as a home-study course for continuing education. Here's what people are saying about it:

"Finally, someone has put together a resource on acoustics that the practicing architect can use as a practical tool! Your new book takes what could be a dry, academic manual and infuses it with the energy of real-life solutions."
Thomas B. Gerfen, AIA 1997 President,
AIA San Francisco

"Your book establishes a new standard of excellence for how to make complex technical phenomena come alive. I am confident this book will become the standard reference for students and practitioners like."
Harrison Fraker, AIA Professor and Dean
UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design

"We highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about the fundamentals of acoustics, noise control, audio/visual systems, and related topics."
N.W. Jasper, Jr., President and Ioan Allen,
Vice President Dolby Laboratories

ACOUSTICS: Architecture, Engineering, the Environment is available for purchase through the William Stout Bookstore, 415.391.6757, www.stoutbooks.com.
