WKYC opened its innovative digital broadcasting center in January 2000. The $30 million dollar three-story structure is located on the Davenport Bluffs over-looking the city of Cleveland, OH. The building encompasses 80,000 square-feet over a 50,000 square foot parking garage. Acoustical issues included railway noise mitigation, broadcast studio acoustics and isolation from the parking garage. |

This screening room project is located at Dolby’s new Los Angeles office in Burbank. Our services included acoustical consulting for the 49-seat Umlang Presentation Theater II, the home theater demonstration room and the project studio. The theater is used to evaluate, demonstrate and develop new products for improving cinema sound. It is equipped for film and digital cinema using the latest technology for projection and surround sound. Acoustical design issues included sound insulation from the 134 Freeway, NBC’s helipad and the Burbank Airport. HVAC noise reduction and room acoustics were also critical elements in the success of this facility. |

CSA provided acoustical consulting services and design for the film, sound recording and post-production building including a 300-seat screening room, music scoring stage, ADR, Foley, pre- and final sound mix and editing suites. The project was constructed on a fast-track basis to meet the client's schedule. The recording stages established new thresholds for quiet background noise produced by ventilation systems. The room acoustics design for all of the critical listening and mixing studios was based on new criteria for speech intelligibility. |
