Alexander K. Salter, PE | Senior Consultant

Joining Charles M. Salter Associates in 2003, Alex was inspired to pursue a career in acoustics while taking an experimental vibrations class, studying how environmental factors affect vibrating materials. As a member of ASHRAE, Alex was included in discussions to help the City of San Francisco deal with the health effects of noise and air pollution generated by vehicle traffic. Alex's efforts helped the local chapter of ASHRAE and the Health Department join forces in an initiative to benefit the welfare of people living in San Francisco.

Alex's typical projects include civic facilities, residential mixed-use projects, hotels and resorts, and hospitals. He has been involved in the design of The Century in Los Angeles (a proposed LEED Silver project) and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Recently, he worked on the Oxford Plaza Housing and Brower Center, located near UC Berkeley and the first LEED Platinum building on the West Coast.
