Robert P. Alvarado | Senior Vice President
Robert has a high level of appreciation for the quality of life issues that relate to acoustics and how they affect health and happiness. He specializes in architectural acoustics and ventilation system noise and vibration control. Robert has extensive experience consulting on environmental acoustics, healthcare facilities, multi-family housing, peer reviews, feasibility studies, noise and vibration reduction, and mixed-use projects. Some of his recent projects include the James H. Clark Center at Stanford University, the Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi, Kaiser Oakland Medical Center, Bay Meadows, Santana Row, and the PJKK Federal Building in Honolulu.
Robert’s acoustical consulting experience has evolved from a professional background in construction to training in architectural design. With an interdisciplinary focus on architecture, he was the commencement speaker of the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley. This experience helps him communicate with and gain the trust of architects, engineers, and builders. In addition to his career as an acoustical consultant, Robert enjoys the roles of both an educator and guest lecturer at his two alma maters, UC Berkley and Stanford University. Robert combines his strong academic background with the communication skills of a teacher to relate the multiple dimensions of acoustics to architecture and the world beyond.
