Tom has been with CSA since 1984 and specializes in acoustical engineering specifically architectural acoustics, noise and vibration control and audiovideo system design. His expertise is applied to a broad range of projects, including performance spaces, media production and post-production facilities, laboratories, and educational facilities. He prepares specifications and details, conducts field-testing and data analysis and develops remedial solutions for existing acoustical and audio problems.
Before joining Charles M. Salter Associates, Inc. (CSA), Tom worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard reducing the noise and vibration of submarines and related ocean engineering activities. At CSA he has participated in the acoustical design of the Skywalker Ranch Technical Building, the design of a variety of broadcast and performing arts facilities which included: Disney, ESPN, Fox, and Yoshi’s Jazz Club in San Francisco and Oakland. Tom recently worked on Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Community School of Music and Arts, and the Letterman Digital Arts Center.
