Travis R. Lawrence | Consultant
The curiosity of how things work, combined with his growing interest in one of the most overlooked human senses – hearing, lead Travis to study physics and acoustics. His background, as well as his experience in music, provides him with a focused approach for identifying the goals of acoustics. After studying acoustics in Manchester, England, he was an acoustical consultant for three and a half years before joining Charles M. Salter Associates.
Travis specializes in environmental noise control assessments, vibration analyses, and room acoustics. He has spent time performing long-term noise monitoring studies as well as testing the transmission loss of building partitions and vibration analysis of mechanical equipment. Travis has utilized acoustic modeling software to predict the reverberation times of rooms and the directivity of loudspeakers. Some of his recent project experience includes Caldecott Tunnel noise monitoring in Berkeley, Oakland, and Orinda; Lockheed Martin sound isolation in Sunnyvale; Apple Lab acoustics in Cupertino; and Seagate scanning tunneling electron microscope in Fremont, California.
